I think this game looks Great! It's abstract enough, but also not too far from the source material to be cheesy ... well at least more cheesy than Mario should indeed be! haha My thumbs are both up !

Maybe make the game a lot darker and have the lantern as the main lightsource.
Also, the princess seemed to move quite randomly about the castle, which isn't a problem in it of itself, but losing track of her was more annoying rather than terrifying. Maybe adjust her behavior a bit, let her react to you collecting figurines and heading for your position, and maybe give her a bit more of a cue, more than just the alert sound when she's close, but give the player a way to notice if she's in the area or far away. Maybe that's what the wind sound is for but it played continuously for me.
I also ran into some stuttering, it seems, whenever the princess was close. It made it harder to escape from her or hide in a treasure chest, but not in a good way ;-P
As I said, though, neat idea and I'm going to keep an eye on this to see where this is going!
really enjoyed this game!, the style was really spot on for a mario game which was really cool, only thing i would of liked was abit of a add on to the end of the demo maybe a cut scene, or a jumpscare or a reveal of who is really in the castle something to entice people to come back, but honestly gameplay was great and looking forward to more!, gameplay above if you enjoy be sure to hit that sub button guys!

This was an amazing game demo to play, I saw that ZachbealeTV posted a video on youtube about this demo and I couldn't help to try it myself before I watched the video. This game is a great example of horror from our favorite retro gamesm, it has all of the nostalgia and new elements to add the horror aspect. I will say that this is the first horror game that I was able to take in, it was very intense once you collected the first star, but it's overall really fun! And sure getting caught did startle me a lot, but it was enough for me to be able to play it again. 10/10, I can't wait to get the full release once it comes out! P.S. I can't wait to see how hard the hard difficulty really is

really good game, i played it yesterday at like 8am and had a lot of fun, and since people are posting their gameplays I might as well post mine.
Princess Peach is dead but something stayed...
